Humans actually have a significant advantage when it comes to hunting, in the natural environment – our bipedal method of walking is inherently more efficient than four legged movement, which means we can wear animals down, and we can communicate with each other.
In the era before fancy bows and crossbows and guns able to kill a deer from an extreme distance, we would just follow it for hours and hours, stalking it until it collapsed from exhaustion. Then, pointy sticks.
Being bipeds makes us slow, but moving two legs instead of four means a lot less energy wasted. We are very well evolved to be apex predators, even without fancy technology.
